The 2021 budget: Education acquires the largest share, with 186 billion riyals. The volume of spending in the state’s general budget for the new fiscal year 2021 reached 990 billion riyals, with the education sector accounting for the largest share of it, amounting to 186 billion riyals.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman confirmed 990 billion riyals as expenses, and a deficit of 141 billion riyals, representing 4.9% of the GDP for the year 2021
The military sector, health sector, and social development came in second place in terms of spending allocations, with 175 billion riyals each, then the general items sector with 151 billion riyals, then the security and administrative areas sector by 101 billion riyals.
In the 2021 budget, the government allocated 72 billion riyals to the economic resources sector, the municipal services sector 51 billion riyals, basic equipment and transportation 46 billion riyals, and public administration 34 billion riyals.
The session began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, then the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud addressed a speech to the male and female citizens, in which he announced the budget.
The Kingdom said the time that it plans to cut spending by 7.5% in next year’s budget to 990 billion Saudi Riyals but expects the economy to return to growth as its management of the Covid-19 crisis improves, a preliminary budget statement showed.
