It’s Confirmed! Saudi Resumes flights on May 17

After taking into account different aspects and considerations of the unparalleled coronavirus condition in many parts of the globe, Saudi Arabia confirms the final decision to resume international flight service on May 17 (Shawwal 5, 1442).

The Secretary of the Committee, Dr. Talal Al- Tuwaijri said that the final decision has different dimensions and paths, and that is being studied now looking into all the details before the announced date.

However, Dr. Al-Tuwaijri advised people not to travel except for an emergency need considering the current spread of the virus in numerous countries.

He also explained that the health requirements for travel; specifically, the requirements to take vaccination before traveling,  are presently being studied and will be announced before the opening of international flights.

He added that the matter is not related to the Kingdom only, but other countries also have their own conditions. The plan to achieve 70 percent immunization of the society through vaccination is set before the end of 2021
