Why does Saudi have a New Banknote?

Are you one of the of the notaphilists or a collector of banknotes or paper money? Or simply you’d be glad learning that a new banknote is coming. Well, here’s new one for you because on Sunday, 13/09/1442 AH /  25/04/2021, ‘Two-Hundred’ denomination will be put into circulation.

What’s the Reason?

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of launching the ‘Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

According to the Central Bank, the new banknote was printed according to the latest standards in the field of banknote printing and is characterized by various technical specifications, high-quality security features, distinguished design, and striking colors. This issue is based on Article No. (4) of Saudi Monetary Law issued by Royal Decree No. (6), dated on 1/07/1379 AH.

Further, the new banknote comes in gray color with an image of the founder King Abdul Aziz on the front, the logo of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in 3D design, the Saudi Central Bank name, and the banknote value in the Arabic letters and numbers.

The back carries an image of “Qasr Al Hukm” in Riyadh, the Saudi Central Bank name, and the banknote value in the English letters and numbers.
