Kuwait to resume flights, reopen borders on Jan. 2
Kuwait to resume International flights: Kuwait will resume international flights on Jan. 2, 2021 (Saturday), the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Tuesday following a Cabinet decision.

Kuwait will also reopen its borders as the Cabinet decided not the extend the coronavirus preventive measures taken following the appearance of a new strain of coronavirus in the United Kingdom and in Europe.
The decision will be reviewed according to developments regarding the spread of coronavirus, the Cabinet added.
The decision to reopen its borders from Jan. 2 came after Kuwait’s Health Ministry confirmed that the new strain of the coronavirus had not been detected in the country..
DGCA spokesman Saad Al Otaibi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the decision was made after the Cabinet decided on Dec. 21 to halt flights from and to Kuwait.
The resumption of flights will begin at 4:00 pm local time by all decisions might be amended according to coronavirus developments, Al Otaibi added. — SG
