Free Coronavirus vaccine to everyone in the Kingdom : Ministry of Health

The Covid-19 vaccine will be available to everyone in the kingdom for free, said Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Health for Preventive Affairs Dr. Abdullah Al-Asiri while speaking to Al-Ekhbariya TV.

The Minister hoped that 70% of the population of Saudi Arabia would have access to coronavirus vaccines by the end of 2021.

Al Asiri said “Most of the Corona vaccines are administered twice, except one”. Children below 16 years of age will be excluded from receiving the vaccine at this stage”. Earlier, he said that Kingdom will be one of the first countries in G20 and around the world to obtain good quantities of safe and effective vaccines to combat Covid-19.

The spokesperson of Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al Abdel Ali said Saudi Arabia will be one of the first countries to receive Corona virus vaccine. He also said that the the Corona vaccine will be available to everyone (Expats and Saudi Citizens) for free of charge in Saudi Arabia.

“Saudi Arabia obtains vaccines for public health purposes and has therefore not included them in the list of goods which are subject to charge” he added.

Al Abdel Ali said Saudi Arabia will receive delivery of those vaccines that must fulfill a number of specific conditions. The vaccine must be effective, safe and approved by concerned authorities

The critical cases of Corona virus decreased by 6.3% during the last week, Everyone needs to strictly stick to the precautionary measures and preventive protocols issued by competent authorities, he added.
