Saudi bans medical staff from wearing ‘tight clothes’ and makeup to work

Saudi Bans Medical Staff: The Ministry of Health Saudi Arabia’s recently issued a strict dress code notification that sparked controversy on the kingdom’s social media platforms. According to the notification issued Medical staff on duty have been instructed to follow strict dress code, according to the local media reports.

Health workers are advised not to wear transparent and tight-skinned clothing or those cloths with slits, the gulfnews reported, citing undisclosed source. They are also banned from wearing outfits emblazoned with images, inscriptions or emblems violating Islam, displaying hairdos, donning hats or wearing make-up, it added.

Directives have been made to primary health care managers and department heads at hospitals to ensure female and male workers’ compliance with the dressing regulations and exclude the violators, the sources said.

Health workers are required to sign a related formal notice for compliance, they added.
