Announcement : Lifting of travel restrictions to be announced Later
The Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia said on Tuesday that it will later announce a date for lifting travel restrictions on citizens and expatriates travelling to and from the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Saudi Arabia partially lifted the travel suspension on Sept.15, six months after travel restrictions were imposed due to the coronavirus(COVID-19) pandemic.
“The date for lifting restrictions on citizens and residents travelling to and from the Kingdom and allowing the opening of ports to all means of transport will be announced soon by the ministry,” the source said in a statement carried by SPA.
The ban is provisionally scheduled to be lifted on 1 January 2021. The ministry had said earlier that, 30 days before Jan. 1 next year, the deadline for lifting the suspension would be announced.
