The Indian Embassy In Riyadh (KSA) Is working towards resuming Flights From Saudi Arabia To India and vice-verca. In addition To discussions between The Ambassador And Civil Aviation Officials, Embassy Press And Information Secretary Azeem Anwar Met With Ali Rajab, Director General Of The Air Transport General Authority, Yesterday. The Meeting Was Also Attended By Representatives Of Various Airlines In India And Saudi Arabia.

Negotiations are Under-way To Launch Flights To Few Airports from India In The First Week Of December 2020. In The Context Of Covid-9, Saudi Arabia Air Bubble Has Signed Agreements With Various Countries. Airbubble Operates Flights From India To 22 Countries As Per The Agreement. The Government Of India Is Ready To Sign This Agreement With Saudi Arabia.

India has air bubbles in place with 14 countries. India currently has transport bubbles with USA, UK, UAE, Qatar, Nigeria, Maldives, Japan, Iraq, Germany, France, Canada, Bhutan, Bahrain and Afghanistan. Many more countries will soon have this special arrangement with India.

  • Kuwait has a blanket ban on travel to and from India.
  • Hong Kong has suspended Air India’s flights to its airport till October 3. Hong Kong had banned Air India’s Vande Bharat flights for two weeks after several passengers brought in by the airline tested positive for Covid-19.
  • Authorities in Dubai, UAE, also banned Air India Express flights after the airline carried Covid-19 positive passengers on two different occasions. However, the country overturned its ban after the airline profusely apologised.
  • Saudi Arabia had banned travel to and from India, Brazil and Argentina but later allowed Vande Bharat repatriation flights to fly passengers to India from Riyadh and Dammam airports.

India – Saudi Arabia Flights resumption discussions Initiated

Re-entrants Are Currently Arriving In Saudi Arabia After Spending 14 Days In The Maldives And Dubai. The Indian Ambassador Had Earlier Given A 14-day Unconditional Entry To Saudi Arabia To Health Workers And Their Families Following Discussions With Saudi Civil Aviation Authorities. In The First Week Of December, More Flights Will Start From Saudi Arabia. The Airlines Have Already Received Instructions In This Regard. The Saudi Government Has Said It Will Announce Full Service From January In The First Week Of December.
